Underground Storage Tanks

 

• Type Of Program:
  This state does not currently have a red or green tag program, but prohibits deliveries through a Web site listing. In the absence of a physical address to list on the Web site, deliveries are prohibited by a posted red tag.

• How To Identify An Ineligible Underground Storage Tank:
  The Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) identifies ineligible underground storage tanks through a listing on ADEM's Web site. The Delivery Prohibition List will be maintained on the Web site and facilities on the list will be prohibited from receiving product at 12:00 a.m. Central Time on Wednesday of the week that a delivery prohibition determination is made by ADEM. The prohibition will remain in effect until the violation(s) is/are resolved and the owner receives a Delivery Prohibition Lifted letter. While Alabama does not have a red or green tag program, if a physical address is not available for a facility that is under delivery prohibition, a red tag will be affixed to the fill pipes of all underground storage tank systems at the facility.
