The Compliance Assistance and Sector Programs Division (CASPD) is responsible for the following:
- Coordination: serve as EPA's focal point for compliance assistance (CA) policy, coordination, and measurement among regions, states, tribes and other agencies and providers
- Policies and Guidance: develop policies, guidance and protocols that advance the practice of strategic CA (e.g., CA targeting protocols, CA Plan, and tribal CA strategy)
- Tool Development: develop CA "tools" to implement integrated initiatives and sector-based approaches to addressing environmental problems
- Communication/ Marketing: develop communication and coordination mechanisms ( e.g. CA Clearinghouse) among assistance providers, regions, states, tribes and stakeholders, in order to help institutionalize and advance the practice of compliance assistance
- Sectors: identify priority and emerging sectors and develop integrated strategies to target, market and deliver tools to address these problem areas
- Media: support new, EPA media-specific rules and regulations which impact CASPD's lead and emerging sectors and develop related CA tools
- Measurement: measure the effectiveness of the Agency's compliance assistance activities and work with other assistance providers in implementing measurement strategies
