National EMS PEER Center

Building on the successes of the three government programs, the Office of Water is now sponsoring a new initiative called the Public Entity EMS Resource Initiative (PEER). PEER consists of two major components. The first is a national clearinghouse of EMS information dedicated to public entities on the PEER Center Web SiteExit EPA Disclaimer. This clearinghouse contains a wide array of information including fact sheets, guidance documents, project summaries and other tools to help public agencies understand and implement EMSs for their operations. The second component of PEER are seven EMS Local Resource Centers (i.e. PEER Centers) that were designated in 2002 and are now serving the EMS needs of public agencies around the country. Five of these Centers are affiliated with academic institutions, one is a state agency, and one is a local NGO.
