The National Environmental Education Advisory Council is comprised of representatives from organizations other than the federal government who provide EPA with advice on environmental education. The Council provides EPA with a better understanding of the needs of schools, universities, state departments, and educational organizations. The 3 vacancies to fill on the Council are:
- One State Department of Education
- One Primary and Secondary Education (does not need to be a classroom teacher)
- One Senior American (the purpose of this slot is to engage senior Americans in environmental education)
Although there are currently only 3 vacancies, we are always seeking qualified candidates for all of the sectors represented on the Council. Application materials from qualified candidates for the slots not currently vacant will be maintained by the NEEAC staff and reviewed when additional members are needed.
Public Meetings
The Council will hold public meetings by conference call on the 2nd Wednesday of each month,
beginning with December 12, 2007. The purpose of these meetings is to
provide the Council with the opportunity to advise the Environmental
Education Division on its implementation of the National Environmental
Protection Act of 1990.
