Monthly Information Meetings

Please join EPA's and MassDEP's harbor cleanup team for the regular monthly cleanup updates which will be held at the New Bedford Public Library on 613 Pleasant Street. This location will likely remain to replace the meetings previously held at EPA's cleanup trailers at the end of Sawyer Street in New Bedford. The meeting time will usually be at 7 p.m. but is subject to change depending on meeting space availability. Please refer to the New Bedford Harbor homepage for the exact timing of the meetings. The public and local businesses are encouraged to attend.

The meeting space is fully accessible. Translation services will be available. If you have any further questions or special needs, please contact Jeanethe Falvey, U.S. EPA Toll Free 1-888-372-7341 ext. 8-1020

Who's Who out on the Harbor?
Seen a barge on the Harbor, but unsure why it's there or what it's doing?

Larger meetings, jointly hosted by the EPA, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (Mass DEP), and New Bedford Harbor Development Commission (HDC) are held twice a year, generally at the start and finish of each cleanup season.

These evening meetings are presented to the public to provide updates on the Superfund cleanup, as well as the on-going navigational dredging efforts by the HDC to support New Bedford's maritime industries. The last meeting of this kind was held at the New Bedford Public Library on Pleasant Street on April 30, 2009, the next is anticipated to take place sometime in October or November of this year.

The material presented at the April 30th meeting can be viewed under the "presentations" tab on the New Bedford Harbor homepage.
