El Paso Children's Health Study
The El Paso-Ciudad Juarez area is one of the largest metropolitan areas on the U.S.-Mexico border. This document is intended to provide information back to the El Paso Independent School District (EPISD) as part of EPA's Border XXI Program. The study was conducted by researchers of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and was designed to evaluate the possible association between childhood respiratory illness and ambient air quality in the El Paso metropolitan area. The analytic work on the El Paso Children's Health Study will continue beyond this document, and analyses of the role of traffic-related air pollutants in children's respiratory health will be conducted over the next two years.
