Matt has a strong track record of technical and program accomplishments at EPA. As an environmental engineer and hydrogeologist in the Waste Management Division, Matt has a national reputation as a technical expert in petroleum cleanups at underground storage tank sites. Matt has extensive experience managing complex cleanup cases and is a recognized leader with our states and external stakeholders. Matt has a long history of successful collaborations with ORD. He has extensive experience organizing technical conferences and workshops, and teaching technical courses. Matt has been actively involved in a number of external technical review panels. Matt is a Registered Geologist and received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Engineering. Matt has twice been selected as the Bay Area Federal Employee of the Year in the Science Category.
