The Data sources listed below link to databases on a range of scientific topics providing numerical and narrative descriptions of human health, ecological, social, and economic data, such as natural resources, contaminant levels, and native foods. The data presented includes both observational and analytical information that have been collected by EPA, other Federal agencies, and tribal organizations.

Observational Data Resources

  • Alaska Native Science Commission's Arctic Contaminants Project Exit EPA
    The Alaska Native Science Commission, the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) and the University of Alaska Anchorage is working under a three-year grant from EPA's Office of Radiation and Indoor Air on a project involving traditional knowledge and contaminants, which documents Alaska Native understandings of environmental changes.
  • OPPT Chemical Hazard and Exposure Data
  • Nunat Exit EPA
    Nunat is an Alaska Village environmental information exchange site provided by the Alaskan Inter-Tribal Council (AITC). Some term Nunat as a climate change observations site and others a contaminant or resource development information site.

Analytical Data Resources

Tribal Information Management System (TIMS)

TIMS is a state-of-the-art GIS system for summarizing environmental information about Indian tribes, using publicly available data from EPA and other federal agencies. TIMS was developed by the American Indian Environmental Office of the Environmental Protection Agency.
