New York has not yet been granted state program approval (SPA). In Region 2, only Puerto Rico has an approved program.

Number of confirmed releases 25,591 (national total: 474,127)
Number of cleanups completed 22,904 (national total: 365,361)
Number of cleanups in backlog to be completed 2,687 (national total: 108,766)

Percent of facilities in significant operational compliance with:
Release prevention requirements 74%
Release detection requirements 68%
Both prevention and release detection requirements 57%
