Finding Data About Underground Storage Tank Facilities
States and territories gather and store data on UST facilities within their jurisdiction. The kind of information stored varies from state to state, but may include information about the facility's owner, its tank systems, release records, and level of compliance. If you are looking for this sort of specific data you need to go to the state or territory Web home page. Most states and territories provide data to the public regarding UST facilities. For information on USTs in Indian County, contact the appropriate EPA regional office.
Note that EPA does NOT maintain any state data and there is no "master list" combining all national data. Questions about state-specific data must be addressed directly to the state.
Some states use a database program developed and provided by OUST called "UST-Access." If you want to download the empty database program (there is no data entered in it), you can use either of the following versions:
- UST-ACCESS Version 2.5 (for use with MS-ACCESS Version 2.0) - contains documentation and files for downloading and setting up UST-ACCESS 2.5
- UST-ACCESS Version 3.0 (for use with MS-ACCESS '97) - contains documentation and files for downloading and setting up UST-ACCESS 3.0
UST-Access is a database that works with Microsoft Access and is designed to be an UST/LUST program management tool for state and local regulatory agencies. OUST does not provide formal user support or software maintenance for this product.
Also, data on numbers of active and closed tanks, releases reported, cleanups initiated and completed, and emergency responses can be found in the UST And LUST Program Performance Measures.
