The EJ Small Grant Request for Applications for FY2010 (PDF) (43 pp, 443K) has been released. For FY 2010, the EJSG program is emphasizing the need to address the disproportionate impacts of climate change in communities with environmental justice concerns. The EPA EJ Small Grants Program is a national program with the total funding available for awards under this solicitation at $1,000,000. EPA anticipates awarding approximately 40 grants in the amount of $25,000 each.

Environmental Justice Small Grants Program

The purpose of this grant program is to support and empower communities that are working on local solutions to local environmental and public health issues. In addition, the EJSG aims to assist recipients in building collaborative partnerships. State Environmental Justice Cooperative Agreements Program

The State Environmental Justice Cooperative Agreements Program provides funding so that eligible entities may work collaboratively with affected communities to understand, promote and integrate approaches to provide meaningful and measurable improvements to the public health and/or environment in the communities.

Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement Program

Please note: the Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement (EJ CPS) Program is currently under evaluation.

The purpose of EJ CPS is to help communities address existing local environmental and/or public health issues. The program assists recipients in developing proactive, strategic and visionary approaches to address environmental and public health problems in their communities. EJ CPS projects cannot focus on education or training.

Grants are awarded for a three-year period and total $100,000 each.
