Coffee Mates: a celebration of The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project ![]()
Celebrate our one year anniversary and Earth Day with Crazy Mocha and the volunteers of The Pittsburgh Tote Bag Project.
- Bring your mismatched coffee/tea travel mugs and lids (in a tote bag!)
- Intermingle with other guests to find "mates" for your items
- Everyone who makes a match will receive a raffle ticket for a prize
- We may have a few fun prizes for most unusual mug, oldest mug, etc.
Travel mugs can be a wonderful way to be green, sometimes the lid and mug go in different directions. Many mugs can NOT be recycled because they are made of mixed materials. Rather than end up in the landfill, we want to introduce you to potential ways to reuse/repurpose/upcycle your items in your home.
At the end of the event, you can leave unmatched items with us and we'll dispose of as appropriately as we can. Please note we cannot donate these mugs to be reused for beverages as we cannot sterilize them.
We'll have free coffee and tea as well as snacks. Crazy Mocha will have coffee beverages available at 50% as well as their brand new travel mugs.
We realize you may spend the earlier part of the day involved with a community clean up or other Earth Day activity. This is a great way to end the day on a fun & green note. And you'll have a chance to meet our volunteers and donors.
Admission: one tote bag per person (additional totes and food donations are welcome)
