The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 3 hosted an environmental compliance workshop to Federal facilities. The workshop provided a framework to deal with those compliance issues affecting the Federal sector.
- This 2-day workshop introduced basic principles of environmental compliance in the following areas: Underground Storage Tanks, Hazardous Waste, TSCA Lead-based paint, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), NPDES and Stormwater requirements.
- The workshop was delivered through lectures from experienced compliance inspectors. Discussing the most common issues affecting the Federal sector. Also, several case studies were used during the workshop to help reinforce the material.
- Communication between participants and instructors on their experience added a crucial component to the discussion.
- This workshop was intended for Federal personnel who are involved in environmental compliance activities at Federal facilities.
- There was no cost to attend this training; however, each participant was responsible for her/his travel and per diem expenses.
- Due to the activities designed for this training and to provide the best experience, class size was limited to 40 participants.
