Compliance Assistance Workshops for Prisons & Corrections Facilities
Region 4's Prisons Compliance Assistance Initiative includes educational outreach to provide regulated communities information and resources needed to comply with federal and state environmental laws. The Region, in partnership with State and Federal agencies, has identified the following facilities for its compliance assistance workshops.

Corrections Environmental Workshop, Kentucky Workshop
On Wednesday, July 15, 2009, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 4, in partnership with the Kentucky Department for Environmental Planning (DEP) and the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) held a free, one-day Environmental Compliance Assistance Workshop for Kentucky Prisons and Corrections facilities at the Kentucky DEP Training Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. A total of 84 State and Federal Corrections staff participated in the workshop.

Corrections Environmental Workshop, Alabama Workshop
On Tuesday, May 12, 2009, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 4, in partnership with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) held a free, one-day Environmental Compliance Assistance Workshop for Alabama Prisons and Corrections facilities at the Alabama Corrections Academy in Selma, Alabama. A total of 114 State and Federal Corrections staff participated in the workshop.

Environmental Compliance in Corrections, Georgia Workshop
On Thursday, April 16, 2009, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 4, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) conducted a one-day Environmental Compliance Assistance Workshop in Forsyth, Georgia for Georgia Prisons and Corrections facilities. A total of 97 State and Federal Corrections staff participated in the workshop.
