Fatima Ndiaye of EPA Region 7's Chemical Risk and Information Branch stands beside a RoGator Sprayer at the 2007 Kansas Agribusiness Expo in Overland Park, Kan., on Nov. 14-15, 2007. RoGator Sprayers are used to apply crop protection products such as fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. At their Expo booth, EPA experts distributed information about EPCRA, Clean Air Act 112(r), oil storage under the Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasure (SPCC) requirements of the Clean Water Act, and EPA's Ag Center. EPA also made presentations at the pesticide recertification training Nov. 15 related to container disposal, hazardous waste regulations, and release and storage reporting.

Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know (EPCRA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability (CERCLA)

The Chemical Risk Information Branch (CRIB) is responsible for implementing programs under various environmental laws. These include the Emergency Planning and Community Right To Know Act (EPCRA),  the Clean Air Act (CAA) Section 112(r) for Risk Management Planning, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) for accidental and continuous release reporting, and the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and the new and existing chemical programs.
