EPA Leader Visits California

In a Bay Area visit, Lisa Jackson toured a San Francisco green business that makes parts for hybrid and electric vehicles and participated in the Rio+2.0 Conference, where she spoke about the importance of technology in the environmental, health and sustainable development fields. In Los Angeles, Jackson toured UCLA's Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology, an EPA grantee. She also participated in a community meeting to discuss EPA's environmental justice priorities.

Protecting Drinking Water

Forty local workers have started construction at Sunrise Landfill near Las Vegas. They will be installing extensive stormwater controls which will help protect drinking water sources.
