California Bioresources Alliance Symposia
Formerly The Pacific Southwest Organic Residuals Symposium
The symposium brings together people involved in organic residuals (e.g., manure, foodwaste, biosolids, green waste, animal wastes) in California, including industry professionals, municipalities, legislators, local, state and federal regulatory agencies, researchers, and financers. The two-day event is organized by University of California (UC) Davis Extension and the US EPA, Pacific Southwest.
A focus of the 2013 symposium was recently enacted California legislation addressing bioresources. There were also sessions on dairy clusters, biogas challenges faced by wastewater treatment plants, the federal/state dairy digester initiative, the Bioenergy Action Plan, facility siting issues, forestry products, and use of bioresources for mine reclamation.
