About the Regional Water Division

Region 9 has established the following priorities for water protection and restoration:
  • Increase compliance with safe drinking water act requirements to protect public health
  • Promote watershed approaches to restore waters via regulatory and voluntary methods
  • Reduce beach pollution from SSOs and stormwater
  • Minimize losses of wetland acres through permitting and enforcement actions
  • Improve stormwater implementation at the state and local level
  • Strengthen water quality and wetlands monitoring to assess waters
  • Reduce environmental threats to fragile coral reefs
