Beat the Peak: All About Peak Water Use
As water use spikes, so do consumers’ water bills. “Peak” water
use describes the time of year when residential water use is at
its highest, usually in late July or early August, due to additional
landscape watering, outdoor summer activities from sprinklers to
car washing, and indoor activities such as washing beach towels
more frequently.
WaterSense is helping consumers find strategies to beat the water
use peak in order to keep down household utility costs and avoid
taxing local water systems.
