Advocacy
EPA recognizes the important role that community advocacy groups play in building a bridge between AAPIs and government. These groups are instrumental in raising issues, increasing awareness, and providing outreach activities.
Grants and contracting opportunities

AAPIs live in communities where they face the same adverse environmental impacts as all other residents. However, certain AAPI subgroups may be more adversely affected by environmental factors due to their lifestyle, customs, and everyday activities.
In Summer 2000, EPA conducted community dialogues in five cities nationwide to gather input for the AAPI Initiative. These meetings served to identify environmental and public health issues, communication and outreach issues, and opportunities for community partnerships.
