AAPI Community Dialogue

EPA is committed to ensuring that the public has access to environmental information, so communities can make their own decisions on how best to protect their local environment.
With the cooperation and assistance of EPA's regional offices, the Assistant Administrator for Administration and Resources Management (EPA's representative to the Interagency Working Group) and regional senior officials visited five low-income communities with diverse AAPI populations. The goal of these listening sessions was to gather community input on the agency's approach to the Initiative and to raise their awareness about the environment in which they live.
Over a three-month period, EPA met with local AAPI residents, community groups, academia, businesses, and state and local government in Seattle, Jersey City, Oakland, Houston, and Chicago. Transcripts are available from the following community meetings:
