Assistive Technology Center
The ATC is located at EPA Headquarters (EPA East Building) to ensure opportunities for all EPA Headquarters employees to have equal access to electronic and information technology (EIT). The ATC has workstations equipped with accessible tools that ensure access to employees with Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Mobility, Visual and Cognitive disabilities working with EIT. Assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, or system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is commonly used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
At the ATC...
- Employees, managers, and IT support personnel can work to find accessible solutions for users with unique desktop accessibility requirements
- Desktop support personnel can learn how to use and support assistive technology
- System developers can test agency applications and Web sites for 508 compliance
- EPA staff can attend Assistive Technology tool demonstrations and hands-on try-outs and education
The ATC is available Monday thru Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. If you have a question about the Center, or need to set up an appointment, please contact Elaine Davis.
