Biography

Dr. Chunming Su is a Soil Scientist in the Subsurface Remediation Branch of the USEPA's National Risk Management Research Laboratory located in Ada, Oklahoma. Dr. Su is interested in studying: (1) in situ remediation of organic and inorganic contaminants in ground water and soils using permeable reactive barrier technologies and monitored natural attenuation approaches, (2) arsenic sorption and redox transformation processes using specimen iron minerals including green rusts and iron oxides, (3) organic contaminant degradation pathways using stable isotopes, and (4) ground water/surface water interactions with respect to contaminant transport and transformation.

His former work experience includes a term soil scientist position with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a National Research Council Resident Research Associateship, and a project scientist position with ManTech Environmental Research and Services Corporation. He is a principal author of more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles. He received a B.S. from China Agricultural University, China, a M.S. from University of Guelph, Canada, and a Ph.D. from Washington State University, all in Soil Science.
