Biography

Mustafa M. Bob is a post-doctoral Environmental Engineer in the GWERD's Subsurface Remediation Branch. He has a BS (Honors) degree in civil engineering form Khartoum University, Sudan., MS and Ph.D. in environmental engineering from The Ohio State University.

His current research focuses on assessing the benefits of partial DNAPL source zone remediation. He is involved in both field and laboratory studies. In the laboratory studies, Dr. Bob is developing a method using the innovative technique of light transmission visualization (LTV) to characterize the functional relationship between DNAPL architecture, mass removal and contaminant mass flux in 2-D models under well-defined conditions. Prior to joining EPA, Mustafa Bob was working on the same research project as a National Research Council (NRC) postdoctoral research associate. His past work experience also include working as a civil engineer for 2 years in Sudan.

Dr. Bob has also done a lot of research on drinking water treatment during his masters and Ph.D. studies.
