The LGTTL initiatve gives Girl Scouts a deeper personal connection with the outdoors and the environment in an increasingly urbanized society. When girls gain outdoor expereinces in conservation enducation, they build the foundation for important life skils, a lifetime appreciation for nature, and the start of potential careers in natural resource conservation.LGTTL has a variety of publications which provide further information on both the program itself as well as the above concepts.

Linking Girls to the Land Video/DVD
Through an in-kind collaboration with the U.S. Department of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service and other federal natural resource agencies, an 11 minute promotional VHS/DVD was produced. The VHS/DVD is designed to increase the awareness of, and motivate participation of Girl Scout councils and federal natural resource agency personnel in the Linking Girls to the Land initiative. This VHS/DVD demonstrates some of the benefits and forms that partnerships between Girl Scout councils and federal natural resource agencies can take. It also illustrates the importance of multi-agency partnerships to provide needed conservation and environmental education opportunities for participants from more diverse audiences and underrepresented areas to insure Girl Scouting for Every Girl Every Where. The full video is now available for free viewing online!

This Linking Girls to the Land brochure is a six-page comprehensive guide to the Linking Girls to the Land program. It includes information on two patch programs as well as where to get funding. In also includes all of the partners and organizations involved in making this unique interagency group a success.
