2007 Council Grants:

Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council

Project Title: hikeSafe

Project Description: Girls will develop and produce hikeSafe materials and resources to introduce hiking safety guidelines, environmental stewardship, and a hiker’s code of responsibility to girls, their families and communities. The hikeSafe program aims to reduce the need for search and rescue services by using education, outdoor expertise and creating public awareness. Girls will pilot and evaluate the effectiveness of the activities during outdoor and environmental program sessions.

Federal or Sate Collaborating Agency: USDA Forest Service – White Mountain National Forest
