Habitat Effects Branch
The Habitat Effects Branch conducts research to develop methods and models to link habitat changes and their causes to the viability of populations of fish, shellfish, and aquatic-dependent wildlife. Research activities include: 1) developing quantitative relationships between habitat quality and extent to population condition, 2) identifying the critical structural and functional components of ecological support systems that determine population viability and, 3) developing indicators of key habitat features to support Agency monitoring, risk assessment and risk management efforts.
