Habitat Effects Branch
The Habitat Effects Branch conducts research to develop methods & models to link habitat changes & their causes to the viability of populations of fish, shellfish, & aquatic-dependent wildlife. Research includes:
- developing numerical relationships between habitat quality & extent to population condition,
- identifying critical structural & functional components of systems that determine population viability,
- developing indicators of habitat features to support monitoring, risk assessment & management efforts, &
- developing numerical relationships between environmental conditions & human well-being.
