Hal Schedl
Since Iowa is a farm state, our main environmental health threats are consequences of farming. All of us are exposed to pollution of surface and ground water by pesticides and other farm chemicals. Large hog lots pollute air as well as land and water and are a special concern.
Prevention requires a change in philosophy. Education addressed to the polluters in their own self interest is a start.
