On behalf of our California Environmental Secretary, I would like to extend my apologies for not being able to be here today. The Secretary is at the State Capitol dealing with budget issues. But I would like to applaud EPA's leadership in addressing the challenges and opportunities of environment and public health of older Americans. More specifically, it is important to recognize that its public sessions and forums like these where we hear the from those who are most impacted, and we begin to think about a mindful agenda for the environment and the aging.
I look forward to listening to concerns and issues raised here today. I am hopeful that the knowledge and insight that we share today we can walk away with a thoughtful and effective agenda.
