Digester Energy Generation Incentive

Description Authorized by Statute 216C.41 and supported by the state's Renewable Development Fund, Minnesota offers a production incentive of 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour for electricity generated from farm anaerobic manure digester systems. The incentive is available for the first 10 years of a system's operation. In 2007, this incentive was expanded to also include the methane captured from on-farm anaerobic digesters that is not used to produce electricity.

Eligible Organizations Livestock Producer, Commercial/Industrial Business, Nonprofit, Residential, Small Business
How to Apply There is no formal application form prepared by the Department of Commerce. Applicants should apply by letter prior to installation to assure the funding is still available.
