Energy Freedom Program

Description The Energy Freedom Loan Account is funded by $100 million from the Washington State General Fund and managed by a 13-member Energy Freedom Board. The Board is responsible for establishing a competitive process for awarding low-interest loans and grants in research and development of new and renewable energy sources, including infrastructure, facilities, technologies and research and development that will advance Washington's move towards energy independence. The Washington State Department of Agriculture issued the first five loans under the program, but it is now administered by the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development. The program expires June 30, 2016.

How to Apply Inquiries should be made to the contact below to see if your project may be eligible for a low-interest loan. The program also expects to offer grants in the near future.
