| Description |
The New York State Soil and Water Conservation Committee offers grants to the state's Soil and Water Conservation Districts under the Agricultural Nonpoint Source Abatement and Control Program. Program funds are available for nonpoint source abatement and control projects that implement agricultural water quality best management practices to protect natural resources while maintaining the economic viability of New York State's diverse agricultural community. All best management practices proposed for implementation must meet USDA Natural Resource Conservation Services' standards and specifications. Grants can cost-share up to 75 percent of project costs or more if farm owners or operators contribute resources. |

| How to Apply | The state issues a call for proposals on an annual basis. County Soil & Water Conservation Districts apply for the competitive grants on behalf of farmers and coordinate funded activities. Contact information for these offices is available at www.nys-soilandwater.org. |
