Biography

Mark V. White is an Environmental Scientist in GWERD's Ecosystem and Subsurface Protection Branch. Mr. White has a B.S. in Biology from East Central University. Previously he worked as an Inorganic Chemist for ManTech Environmental Research Services Corporation and the University of Oklahoma.

For the past several years he has analyzed trace levels of compounds in aqueous and solid fractions of subsurface material. More specifically he has developed analytical methods, written SOP's and operated a wide range of analytical instrumentation including Ion Capillary Electrophoresis, Ion Chromatography, UV/Vis Spectroscopy and Flow Injection Analysis.

Mr. White is now involved in a new research project on the effect of Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO's) on ground water quality. He has been developing methods to extract and quantify low levels of antibiotics from environmental samples.
