Program, Objectives, and Accomplishments
The Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) has been actively involved in addressing environmental justice issues since the early 1990’s during the advent of the environmental justice movement.
Additional information about OAR’s EJ initiatives, policies and action plans:
- EPA’s Woodstove Changeout Program, which has targeted assistance to Tribal communities and those with potential EJ concerns
- EPA’s Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) grant program for communities to address multiple sources of toxic pollution
- OAQPS FY 2007-08 Environmental Justice (EJ) Progress Report (PDF) (4pp, 37k): In 2007 and 2008 OAQPS staff and managers broadened the scope of OAQPS activities that incorporated environmental justice (EJ) concerns.
