The Group Leader of the New Source Review Group (NSRG) reports to the Director, AQPD.
The NSRG manages the development and implementation of requirements under the new source review (NSR)
and prevention of significant deterioration (PSD) provisions of the Clean Air Act. The Group
promotes integration of NSR/PSD, operating permits, air toxics, and related programs, and coordinates
the identification and resolution of cross-program implementation issues. In addition, the
Group provides input to the development of Regional Office Performance Measures and evaluates
strategic direction of regional programs and fulfillment of priorities articulated in program specific guidance.
The Group’s principal responsibilities include:
- NSR program framework
- NSR policies
- Federal NSR rules in Indian country
- PSD increment assessment
- Oversight, evaluation, and improvement of NSR programs
