The Group Leader of the Community and Tribal Programs Group (CTPG) reports to the Director, OID.
The CTPG facilitates planning and development of national programs to work with Indian Tribes and local
communities across the U.S. The Group is responsible for managing OAQPS grant programs to reduce air
toxics and other air pollutants in various communities, including the Office participation in the Agency’s
CARE program. The Group is also responsible for managing the Agency’s programs to improve air quality
in Indian Tribes. The Group directs the Agency’s Urban Air Toxics Strategy, helping develop rules and
strategies for area sources, where appropriate. The Group also serves as the OAQPS focal point for
environmental justice. Finally, the Group directs and coordinates the OAQPS smart growth and urban
sustainability programs.
Specifically, the Group:
- Facilitates the planning and development of national air programs to work with tribal governments and local communities across the U.S.;
- Provides assistance to states, localities, tribal governments and EPA Regional Offices to incorporate innovative measures into State and Tribal Implementation Plans (SIPs and TIPs);
- Manages programs to reduce air toxics and other air pollutants in various communities, including participating as Office lead in the Agency’s CARE program;
- Manages the Agency’s programs to improve air quality for tribes;
- Serves as the OAQPS focal point for environmental justice and as the OID lead on small business issues; and
- Manages and coordinates the OAQPS smart growth and sustainability programs, and develops strategies to promote pollution prevention principles.
