Community Based Air Pollution Projects
Communities across the nation are taking an active role in improving air quality and finding solutions to other environmental concerns they face. Many communities have concerns that can range from the risks toxic air pollutants pose at a neighborhood school to addressing the effects of urban growth across a metropolitan region. In communities like these, EPA is providing financial, technical and other support for projects to resolve these health and environmental issues.
EPA supports projects across the nation to help inform and empower citizens to make local decisions concerning the health of their communities. These communities want to become involved because the projects can, in many cases, achieve environmental improvements sooner than federal regulations alone. These projects demonstrate that it is possible for communities to develop innovative, affordable approaches to improve the air, water, and other natural resources.
