Register
Any person, company, or organization that wants to trade allowances must register to do so. Regulated sources must register and designate a responsible person to act on behalf of the unit owner/operator. In addition, anyone not connected to a regulated source can also open a general allowance account to buy and sell allowances.
Electronic Registration
- The CAMD Business System (CBS) can be used to register affected units and designate the responsible person. To gain access to the CAMD Business System you must register. Once the registration process is complete, you will be sent an e-mail that describes how to obtain the ID and password you will use to access CBS.
In order for an Agent (someone authorized to act on behalf of a Primary or Alternate Representative) to access CBS, your Representative must first log on to CBS and designate you as an Agent, or they may visit assign agents page to sign and submit the proper certification statements to EPA, along with other required information. The Agent will then be sent an e-mail instructing them to contact EPA’s Clean Air Markets Division to obtain a User ID and password. After these steps have been completed, the Agent will then be able to access CBS.
