Consolidated Part 72 and 75 Regulations
There have been several changes to the Part 72 and Part 75 rules since the last Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) was published. The Acid Rain Program has done its best to be improve the rule to make it more environmentally beneficial and easier for regulated sources, as well as regulators, to live with. However, we also realize that it can become hard to follow the rule when there are several Federal Register (FR) revisions. This unofficial consolidated version of the Part 72 and Part 75 rules contains the current text of Part 75 (and § 72.1 - 72.3) as amended by revisions promulgated on:
- June 13, 2001 (66 FR 31978)
- June 12, 2002 (67 FR 40394)
- August 16, 2002 (67 FR 53503)
- September 7, 2007 (72 FR 51494)
- January 24, 2008 (73 FR 4312)
While all reasonable steps have been taken to make this unofficial version accurate, the FR and CFR take precedence if there are any discrepancies. A complete list of all of these regulations, including those that apply to the OTC NOx Budget Program, is available under the Acid Rain Program laws and regulations page.
How do I Get and Use the Consolidated Version?
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view some of the files on this page. See EPA's About PDF page to learn more about PDF, and a link to the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The consolidated rule is split into two volumes, as shown in the table below. It is available in single column format which provides a full citation next to each paragraph (e.g., §7.59(d)(1)). In addition, equations and tables can stretch across the entire page, rather than being cut into smaller pieces to fit into narrow columns.
For ease of electronic access, the material is split into two volumes:
- Volume I (PDF 1203 pp., 861 K)
(contains the table of contents, §§ 72.1 - 72.3, and the regulatory sections of Part 75) - Volume II (PDF 162 pp., 784 K)
(contains the appendices to Part 75)
The following files show the consolidated rule with the changes from 73 FR 4312 shown in redline and deletions in blue strikeout format:
