The EPA Newsroom is a useful starting point when researching environmental news topics. It features daily updated News Releases, as well as archived articles going back to 1994. News releases issued by EPA headquarters since 1994 can be searched by Date, those released since the beginning of 2005 are also searchable by Subject and by Issuing Office. News releases issued by EPA regional offices are categorized by Locality (EPA Regions). Spanish news reports are sorted by date under the Comunicados En Español link on the EPA Newsroom homepage and date back to 2002.

Other features of the EPA Newsroom include links to information on EPA’s response to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, Public Service Announcements, and transcripts of speeches delivered by the EPA Administrator categorized by the Administrator’s name (Speeches) These can be searched by the date the speech was given (going back to 1995). Important testimony (going back to 2002) can be found under the Testimony link on the EPA Newsroom home page. Testimonies are organized by Administrator and by date, include oral and written testimonies, and are searchable by subject matter.

The EPA Newsroom also provides media contact information for Agency press officers categorized by environmental issue and EPA programs (Media Contacts), and allows users to sign-up to automatically receive EPA news releases by e-mail as they are issued (Get News by E-mail). Choices include all Headquarters news releases, selected news releases En Español, and news releases issued by most regional offices. All of these are also available as RSS feeds by subscription.
