Electronics Shop
The Electronics Shop provides diverse, specialized electronics support to meet APPCD’s needs. Expertise is available to provide maintenance of existing equipment; repair and/or modification of existing equipment; design and fabrication of unique electronic devices; and assist program personnel in selection of electronic equipment. Support is offered for both analytical and process instrumentation. The Shop also provides support for maintenance of computers and peripherals. Examples of support include repair of personal computers (PCs) and printers; upgrading existing PCs; building special PCs, where commercially-available ”over-the-counter” units won’t do the job; replacing hard drives, video cards, and memory modules; fabricating special cables; selecting proper data acquisition hardware and software; installing data acquisition hardware and software; modifying hardware and software to achieve special features; designing and fabricating special printed circuit boards; and fabricating network cables.
