EPA On-line Tools for Site Assessment Calculation
The aquifer applet demonstrates flow in a water table aquifer that is composed of three homogeneous segments.
The segments may have different hydraulic conductivities and applied recharge rates. The applet demonstrates:
- Curvature of the water table
- Water table mounding in the center segment when the recharge rate is high and the conductivity is low in that segment
- True scale of aquifer dimensions (turn off "Vertical Exaggeration")
- Steady state mass balance in aquifers
