Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei from Novozymes North America, Inc., J-11-0005

On August 4, 2011, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Novozymes North America, Inc. submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-11-0005. The new microorganism is a modified CBI strain of Trichoderma reesei. This new microorganism will be used to produce a cellulolytic protein preparation to be used for ethanol production.
