Geography: where has the Bold been?

EPA partners with other agencies and universities all the time to accomplish these types of surveys and many more. Some of our partners include: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Navy, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the National Estuary Program, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The OSV Bold helps EPA study our ocean and coastal environments around the United States. EPA studies our oceans and coasts to better protect them! By spreading awareness about the environmental issues affecting our waters, EPA hopes to encourage the public, (you and your family) all around the country, to do what they can to make the environment a better place. Only with everyone's help can we maintain healthy habitats for fish, plants and wildlife, to make sure they are able to thrive for centuries to come!

In August of 2005, the Bold began a new life as EPA's oceans and coastal monitoring vessel. These are just a few of the surveys it has helped scientists accomplish already.
