Environmental Management Systems
EPA New England Regional Office, One Congress Street, Boston, Massachusetts

Our
Boston, Massachusetts office was one of the first
EPA regional offices to implement
an Environmental Management System (EMS) under the Executive
Order 13148, Greening the Government through Leadership in Environmental
Management.
We’ve reached several important milestones in our efforts to implement our EMS:
- Performed internal EMS Audit, October, 2005 (most recent)
- We received EMS certification from EPA Headquarters on December 9, 2004 – one year early
- Employees and contractors have completed EMS Training (April – November 2004)
- The first complete EMS cycle was completed in July 2004
- Our Environmental Policy, originally approved by EPA New England and building management on January 2003, was revised August 29, 2004
