NEW BEDFORD FORUM MEETS DECEMBER 11 PUBLIC INVITED

Boston - EPA New England announces the next meeting of the New Bedford Forum will be held on December 11 at 6:00 PM at the Regional Vocational High School Auditorium in New Bedford.

Beginning at 5:45 PMfore the meeting there will be an informal "Poster Session" with photographs and graphics of work being done to cleanup the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site. Staff from EPA New England, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be available to answer questions.

Items to be discussed at the meeting include:

• Current status of the power cable relocation project. A clean corridor is being constructed in the harbor through which new cables will be placed to increase power provided to the city.
  
  
• Updated mapping of PCB contamination and areas to be cleanup up.
  
  
• EPA's approach to monitoring and managing airborne PCB emissions.

The Forum will also discuss construction schedules for on going work at the Confined Disposal Facilites (CDF) C and D and relocation of combine sewer overflows.
