Application Guidelines for Brownfields 2003 - 2007 Annual Conference Cooperative Agreement

EPA is conducting an open competition for the lead non-federal co-sponsor cooperative agreement for the next five annual Brownfields conferences (2003 - 2007). The annual Brownfields conferences bring together key experts from federal agencies, states, tribes, municipalities, communities, and other entities to promote research, provide training and technical assistance, and explore solutions to various Brownfields issues.

To date, EPA has co-sponsored 7 annual Brownfields conferences, with attendance growing each year, from over 500 attendees in 1996 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to over 3,300 in attendance at the 2002 conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. The location and date for the 2003 conference has already been selected as the Portland Oregon Convention Center from October 27th through the 29th.

Deadline for applications is January 22, 2003. Please note that applications that are sent via United States Postal Service may not arrive at EPA for several weeks due to the screening and irradiation process necessary for security purposes.

EPA plans to hold an open meeting on January 10, 2003 in Washington, D.C. to answer any questions you may have about the RFA or application and award process. Please contact Beth Zelenski at 202-566-2745 or by email at zelenski.beth@epa.gov for further information on meeting location and time.
