The EPA has announced the selection of twelve communities to share a total of $2 million in brownfields job training grants. Grants of up to $200,000 each will go to non-profit organizations, educational institutions, community colleges, tribes, and state and local governments. Grant Funding Guidance for State and Tribal Response Programs Fiscal Year 2006 EPA is accepting proposals for funding from December 1, 2005 through January 31, 2006. Proposed Information Collection - Brownfields Program Revitalization Grantee In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act, EPA is planning to submit a continuing Information Collection Request (ICR) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Federal Register Notice (PDF File). New Brownfields Reports and Guides EPA has developed new materials in 2005 to provide stakeholders with information on various brownfields-related topics. These materials include: a report to brownfields stakeholders regarding the Brownfields Program's growth and overall accomplishments; reports, guides, and brochures on brownfields initiatives; and a federal programs guide pertaining to financial and technical assistance for brownfields. Brownfields Job Training Grants-Request for Applications (RFA) - Extension of deadline for submission of applications due to Hurricane Katrina EPA's Office of Brownfields Cleanup and Redevelopment is now requesting applications for brownfields job training grants. The goals of the Job Training Program are to prepare trainees for future employment in the environmental field and facilitate cleanup of brownfield sites contaminated with hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants and petroleum.
