Regional Growth Partnership Award First EPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund for $500,000 in Meriden |
On December 27, 2006, the Regional Growth Partnership (RGP) loaned $500,000, its first EPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) loan, to the 290 Pratt Street Partners LLC. The loan will help clean up past contamination at the Meriden Enterprise Center, in Meriden, Connecticut, caused by more than 100 years of manufacturing operations. The RGP received a $1,000,000 EPA Brownfields RLF grant from EPA in 2004. The ongoing cleanup involves removing PCBs, volatile organic compound, and metals from site soils and addressing ground water contamination. In addition to EPA funding, the 290 Pratt Street Associates LLC leveraged $4.3 million in private funding for the cleanup. The Meriden Enterprise Center is a large manufacturing and office building that is home to over 60 businesses, including a new fitness center, Club 24 Health and Fitness.
